Early Adopters and Ray Hall from OSIsoft Engineering Speakers: Bob Steele, Strategic Power Systems Chris Fisher, Centrica Rhys Kirk, TGG (The Genius Group) Pat Schlotzhauer, Black & Veatch Don Morrison, Devon Energy.
Ray Hall is responsible for the design and development of software systems at OSIsoft including all aspects of the PI System. Mr. Hall began his career with the company in 2002. His early successes included the development of PI Asset Framework which allows the definition of assets for organizing PI data. Most recently under his leadership, the Engineering Team at OSIsoft has released exciting innovations of the PI System including asset-based analytics, Coresight 2014 and Esri integration. Prior to OSIsoft, he developed batch automation systems at Sequencia and paper machine control systems at Accuray.
Mr. Hall earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State in 1983 and a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University California, Santa Barbara in 1985.
Robert Steele is Vice President – Information Systems & Technology at Strategic Power Systems. In this role, he is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the information technology systems and all software development activities at SPS. Prior to this role, he served in various positions within Project Engineering and Customer Support at SPS. He has over 25 years of experience performing studies in the areas of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) and has co-authored and published papers on reliability issues. He has been involved in all aspects of engineering and operation of the ORAP® system at SPS, including data collection, processing, analysis, and reporting. He is a past chairman of the ASME Subcommittee on Gas Turbine Operation, Maintenance, Reliability and Safety and is a current member of the API-691 Task Force. He has systems engineering experience supporting the Navy on combat system development as well as project engineering experience in a paper mill. Mr. Steele has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Chris Fisher has a MSc. Finance from the University of Durham (UK), and has worked for 5 major energy utility firms over 15 years across the energy industry, the last 5 being with Centrica Plc. He has worked in a variety of roles including, demand forecasting, development and optimisation of generation assets enabling him to build a wealth knowledge of the UK market. Chris is now a manager of a 24-7 shift team that optimises the full range of Centrica’s strategic assets throughout Europe overseeing all dispatch and intra-day trading. He is also the Change Management lead on behalf of Centrica’s Generation Planning and Logistics department and has been responsible for 12 major system projects worth over £35million.
The Genius Group
Rhys has been focusing on delivering solutions for the Oil & Gas industry over the last 12 years, specializing in Real Time Data Management with a strong emphasis on the OSIsoft PI System. He has held positions as architect and principal consultant at Shell, Wipro and Accenture. He has won the ‘All Stars’ status multiple time on the OSIsoft Developers Community and is leading the all-time leaderboard on PI Square.
Black & Veatch
Pat Schlotzhauer is a Solution Lead within Black & Veatch’s Smart Integrated Infrastructure (SII) business line responsible for the definition and development of solution applications that utilize data analytics and visualization tools to analyze and monitor system performance, increase performance awareness, and improve operational efficiencies and system reliability. Pat also serves as a Mechanical Systems Engineer within the Water Division’s Global Engineering Services with expertise in the design of standby power generation systems; Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems; biogas treatment and compression systems; boiler and heating water systems; and aeration blower systems.
Don Morrison is a Senior Automation Engineer at Devon Energy.
